Dear Friends, I asked Rachel if I could write the email newsletter this time. I
wanted to do a couple of things:
First, and most importantly, Congratulations to Rachel for over a year in
business with the website! She has done an incredible job this last year! She
loves working with the designs and fabric of our two favorites -- Jo Morton and
Renee Nanneman. By continuing the Jo's Little Women Club online, she has made
many women happy. Besides keeping up with the wants of her customers, she
balances her busy life as wife and mother, and always has time for her extended
family and friends. It really has been a pleasure to help her on her journey,
and I hope you all have enjoyed getting to know her.
For those who remember me, I wanted to update you on what I've been up to. Life
is good here at the Lake of the Ozarks, and I am really enjoying the flexibility
of visiting friends in Kansas City, as well as spending time with my family
here. I pretty much jump from project to project, once in a while finishing
something. My sweet little dog, Gretta, is my constant companion, and happily
sleeps in the sun while I work. If you want to email me personally, write to
julieatlake@charter.net.
Because I'm at that stage of life of getting real about what I might get done,
I've made a list of quilts to make. Of course, new things will always crop up.
Now I'm in the process of sending the "excess" I have out into the universe by
selling on eBay. If you like to shop there, check it out! My seller name is
"simplepleasuresquilting" and the store name is "Vintage Gal's Gatherings." I'll
be posting there for at least the next few months. I've posted some small quilts
for sale made by Jackie Lillich. (Next week I'll have some new ones made by her
with Jo Morton fabrics!) I've also posted some kits I made of 3 quilts I have on
my list, applique designs by The Vintage Spool, "Gifts from the Sea,"
"Primavera" and "Christmas Greetings." If you'll remember, I love the process of
choosing fabrics, and these have each block individually packaged for your
convenience. The fabrics in them are all gorgeous -- I've started working on
blocks from each of them!
NOW for an UPDATE --"Toast" by Jo Morton and Andover Fabrics came in and flew
out the door! Rachel has it on reorder, and it will be back in stock at the end
of July. It is a gorgeous group, all in shades of tan, with different prints. You
can see the collection at: http://libertyquiltshop.com/nli.asp?iid=8941
We're still taking PREORDERS for Jo's other two lines coming out this summer
--"Meg's Bouquet" and "Classics." Be sure and get your order in for these -- The
small cut sets ("Little Jo's" and fat eighth sets) are ONLY available by
preorder!
"Meg's Bouquet" -- Preorder Sets at http://libertyquiltshop.com/nli.asp?iid=8976
Just learned -- this group has shipped and will be here by next week!
"Classics" -- Preorder Sets at http://libertyquiltshop.com/nli.asp?iid=8960
Renee Nanneman's next fabric group "FRENCH FARMHOUSE" will be posted to the
website for Preorder soon. We'll let you know when it is. It is a soft and
beautifully colored grouping in French blue, pistachio green and linen. For
now, you can see it at www.andoverfabrics.com.
Anxiously awaited are the two new books -- Jo Morton's "Yesterday's Charm" and
Needl' Love's "Meadowsweet Home." More information coming in this next month.
"VINTAGE" JO FABRIC -- Rachel discovered some bolts of Jo's fabric in her
inventory that were not posted! Now they are, and you have a chance to fill in
your collection with selected prints from "Jo's Calicoes," "Vintage Collection,"
"Olde Gems" and "Mulberry Mix." For those who wanted more purple from Jo, take a
look at the "Mulberry Mix" group. You can find them posted under "New Additions"
or their collection name on the website, www.LibertyQuiltShop.com.
Enjoy looking at these! I hope you're experiencing all the pleasures of summer
-- I miss the regular contact with those who share my passion for quiltmaking,
in the store and online, but I treasure the memories we made through the years.

Dear Friends,
It's Spring! We hope you include a little time for quilting in the days of
enjoying flowers and sunshine, and time with your family and friends.
Our two favorite designers, Jo Morton and Renee Nanneman, are back from Spring
Quilt Market and each working to give us a new book! Jo's will be called
"Yesterday's Charm" and Renee's newest will be "Meadowsweet Home." Just as soon
as they are available, we will let you know. Their two newest lines of fabric
are proving very popular, and we wanted to let you know more about them.
"YORKTOWN" by Jo Morton and Andover Fabrics
This timeless group is a "must have" for those of you who love star fabrics.
The main fabric -- in three colors, Black, Navy and Dark Red -- features a large
paisley and stars. The coordinating fabrics are available in those colors, plus
tan and gold.
Sets of Yorktown - http://libertyquiltshop.com/nli.asp?iid=8871
Our friend Candy Hargrove has created another design for Andover's "Free Quilt
Designs." It is called "Yorktown Strippy Sampler" and has already proven to be
a real winner! You can download the pattern at www.andoverfabrics.com.
Kits of this beauty are available with strippy fabrics in your choice of colors
-- http://libertyquiltshop.com/nli.asp?iid=8982
"MEADOWSWEET" by Renee Nanneman and Andover FabricsRenee loved designing this
soft and romantic line, and we love using it! The featured fabric has
delicately colored birds and flower, on a choice of 3 background colors --
natural, green and red. The coordinating fabrics in prints and wovens are
avilable in those colors, plus cream, tan, gold, pink and blue.
Sets of "Meadowsweet" -- http://libertyquiltshop.com/nli.asp?iid=8902
Andover's designer created a lovely quilt using "Meadowsweet" featuring an
applique birdfeeder and you can download that pattern at www.andoverfabrics.com
Kits are available for this -- http://libertyquiltshop.com/nli.asp?iid=8981
We asked Becky Dye to use the set of "Meadowsweet" in a pattern by Miss Rosie's
Quilt Co., "High Cotton." It shows how beautifully all the colors from this
collection work together.
